Why Not to Litter

K:  Hello!  I’m Priscilla.

S:  And I’m Marty.

Both:  And we’re on the broadcast live television show about the problem with litter.

K:  Trash is making the world a worse place to live!

S:  A lot of sea creatures get injured or sick and killed because there has been trash and litter in the ocean.

K:  Now please remember . . .

Both:  To REDUCE!  REUSE!  AND RECYCLE!

K:  MVCS kids, you could save your clean trash to make things out of in the Makerspace.

S:  You could save your bottle caps to reuse them in our art projects to they are not trash.

K:  Tell your friends!

S:  And tell your family!

Both:  Tell the whole world!

K:  This is Priscilla and Marty.  Goodbye, MVCS students!

Well, to answer your question, I like Frindle because the author wrote and thought up a good plot and wrote it with fabulous words.  I read some of Missing May, and I like it.  I like it because the author showed the main character’s feelings and wrote exciting words.  She made the people’s feelings pop out and made you want to keep on reading forever.

Maine

Every year my family goes to Maine with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents.  We lay there all day, and it’s really fun.  We boogieboard and play on the beach.  I always keep my wet suit on for about the whole time.  Sometimes we build sand castles or dig water pools to sit in.  Sometimes we dig holes or make ink with the charcoal on the beach.  Going to Maine is one of the most fun times of the year!

Our Lewis and Clark Field Trip

Yesterday my class went on a field trip.  We went to a park, adn the first thing that we did was drink hot cocoa.

Then we went to a place that had animal mounts.  Ranger Karen told us all about the animals that were in the park.  I learned a lot about animals then.

Then Ranger Ken told us all about how to sketch and observe things that we don’t notice at first.  We sketched all sorts of nature.

Then we went with Mrs. Honeywell, and she showed us all different ways to take pictures and how different backgrounds make pictures different.  Then we did a scavenger hunt taking pictures of nature.

We ate lunch next.  We ate jerky, venison, squirrel, fish, beaver, sausage, squash, and potatoes.  Mr. Huebner cooked all that meat.

Then all of us split in half.  In groups we went on a very short hike to the waterfall.  The other half of us went to play a game.  We would swap soon.

When I first saw the waterfall, I was enchanted.  We sang a song with Mrs. Brown, and then we went to the rocks by the waterfall.  We found spots, and we could either paint, write, or play a recorder.  This was called “Worship by the Falls.”

When we swapped, we went to play a game called Buffalo Archery Tag.  First, Miss Clasby taught us how to shoot a bow and arrow.  Then the game began.  Gloriana was a buffalo.  Part of us had bows and arrows.  The rest of us either carried arrows for the people with the bows and arrows or made a big circle of people to corner the buffalo so the people with the bows and arrows could shoot Gloriana the Buffalo.  The arrows had a foam point so Gloriana wouldn’t get hurt.

Our field trip lasted until four o’clock in the afternoon, and then we went home.  What a fun field trip we had!
